Project Hope will talk to groups about Horse Welfare

Education is a powerful tool to prevent neglect or abuse of horses. Project Hope educates by talking about horse welfare and horse care, and what is neglect and abuse, whenever we can:

  • Talking with owners to improve care of a neglected horse,
  • Talking to riding clubs and schools to understand what can be done about horse welfare,
  • Being at public events to tell Victorians about hidden neglect and what they can do
  • Talking within the equine industry - recreational and competitive as well as businesses - about our experience of Victorian horses in need.

The Educate menu on this website has short explanations, as well as detail if you want it, for when a horse is at risk, and what is means to own and care for a horse. There is practical advice and illustrations about aged horses, and concerns such as obesity. We will add to this as we go.

Check out the diagrams and links to further interesting talks and websites.

We can post you written material if you ask. Just contact us.

Please contact us if you would like an experienced PHHWV member to talk with your club, industry group, training college, school or riding group.

PHHW work is primarily in Victoria but we can give advice Australia-wide over the phone or via e-mail.
